33rd Hong Kong Film Festival

The 33rd Hong Kong Film Festival will be held on 22 March to 13 April 2009. And they are now calling for entries. If you would like to join this prestigious event, then bear in mind that the deadline for submission of entries will be until 16 January 2009.

About the Hong Kong Film Festival:
The Hong Kong International Film Festival is one of the most respected and admired film festivals in Asia, and has played an important role in the development and promotion of Asia cinema cultures by bringing the world’s finest films and filmmakers together with passionate and enthusiastic.

HKIFF programme consists of the following sections:
Asian Digital Competition
8 Asian films in digital format

Humanitarian Awards for Documentaries Competition
8 documentaries addressing social issues in aesthetically significant manners

Indie Power Showcase
Independent films from around the world

Animation Unlimited showcase
Selections of feature-length or short animations

The programme also includes many other regular sections like Galas, Master Class, Hong Kong Panorama and Global Vision. And there are a number of focuses, retrospectives and tributes that change every year.
