Barney Cheng is known for his fine embroidery on exclusive custom-order couture dresses. This is why his collections are loved by high society ladies.
Barney Cheng studied Textile Design at the Royal College of Art in London. He then pursued Fashion Illustration and History of European Costume at the Parson's School of Design in Paris. He also has a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
In 1993, his "Diva Bride" collection won him the Best Design Award in the woven category at the Hong Kong Trade Development Council's Young Designer's Competition. That same year, Barney Cheng established his own studio called Yenrabi Ltd. in Hong Kong.
